The Environmental Agenda in Organization and Management Research – Towards Interdisciplinarity?
نویسنده
چکیده
This article explores the evolution of the environmental agenda in organization and management research. This is done by studying how the research community responded to calls for interdisciplinarity voiced in key journals in the mid-1990s. It finds that some aspects of the interdisciplinary agenda have not been taken up; in particular the study of the biophysical environment has been difficult to integrate into organization and management studies. The study considers the reasons for these difficulties especially from a sociological and cultural perspective on academic work, and explores the viability of different scenarios for future development.
